Community Involvement

Hi friends!

SURPRISE! We have a new blog page. From now on, all of our blogs will post to this platform. We are excited for something fresh and new, and we hope you all enjoy the change.

Since we opened six years ago, we have been adamant about community involvement. We understand the importance of not only owning a business in the community, but actually serving the community in more ways than just coffee and food. We take pride in working with the community to host events at our shop, and we want to continue on that path.

Often times, we have local musicians come in on Saturday to showcase their music and play for our guests. We also have events during FestivalSouth (which we will advertise soon) and other small impromptu events (like the autism awareness book exchange) during the week! We truly enjoy interacting with our community, and we do not see that changing any time soon.

If you have any questions about hosting an event at Java Werks, please contact us.
Thank you for the support.

Building Connections/Relationships

The connections and relationships we've been able to make over the years have truly made owning a local business all worth it. We are constantly looking for new ways to improve and become a better coffee and tea shop. We do not have it all figured out, but the relationships we have with other business owners, professionals and our customers (who are also business owners, professionals, students, wonderful hattiesburgers) keep us going.

We want to take out the time to thank everyone who has given us a review (or multiple reviews) on Google, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms. Our mission is to provide the best service and products to our one-of-a-kind customers, and we strive to do just that! Your dedication and support have given us light at the end of many tunnels, and we are forever grateful for the relationship we have with the Java Werks Squad!

Below are three tips we use to help us build connections/relationships with customers, business partners or even new friends.
Tip #1. Find commonalities
Tip #2. Exchange relevant information
Tip #3. Communicate
If you have difficulty building relationships (or if you need a little push), try these tips and let us know if they work for you.
What are some things you do to build professional and/or personal relationships? Feel free to comment on our social media!

Happy Mother's Day

Hi, friends!
A MESSAGE FROM MARBELIS
This Sunday, we get to celebrate all the wonderful mothers. We are happy to dedicate this week's blog post to every single mom out there. I think we all can agree that being a mother is challenging for multiple reasons. We want our children to do well, be respectful, find their passions, use their gifts, explore new opportunities and more. We truly want the best for them.
While this role may be challenging, it is also rewarding. We are blessed to be able to watch our children grow, learn and continue evolving. This isn't a day where we want to be praised for being a mom and doing what we are supposed to do. We enjoy this role, and it's nice to sit back and think to ourselves, "wow! I am doing the best I can, and my children, spouses, friends, and family realize that." Thank you for loving us as we continue to love you. -
Magde and I take great pride in being moms and businesswomen. We want to say Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers! You deserve, and you've earned it!
Enjoy your Mother's Day! We will see you soon

Soup and Arepa!

Welcome to another post! We are pleased to know you guys are enjoying our weekly blogs! Today, we are going to discuss our lunch on Monday, May 6th! This year, Cinco De Mayo falls on a Sunday. We (Cesar and Marbelis) do not work on Sundays, but we would like to make something special for you. We thought it’d be a great idea to prepare a hearty soup the next day! Feel free to continue the celebration with us!
Most of our friends love our scratch-made chicken tortilla soup, so that will be the featured soup of the day on Monday! It will come with a cup of soup and an arepa on the side (instead of the usual bread). We hope you have a great time celebrating Cinco De Mayo, and we look forward to seeing you the next day!
